give up im not worth it

maybe its hard to explain,
maybe im not making myself clear.
i know you say those things,
but remember who your talking to here.

you want to be more than friends,
but i cant just give you my heart.
my mind pays close attention,
to the things that can make me fall apart.

trust is more than just a key,
and my mind is more than a lock.
you cant win me over,
just to reveal all of my thoughts.

im not a open book to read,
even though you want to look inside.
maybe if you just listened to what i said,
you would leave me behind.

im not worth the chase,
ill just keep you running for miles.
and if you were able to catch up,
i would find a way to make you lose your smiles.

so maybe you should back out,
and give up on this silly game.
because i dont see myself giving in,
and i dont see you winning anything.
