take my hand and ill see again

im filled with a nothingness,
im an empty shell.
no more do i know who i am,
i have lost my true self.

with searching eyes,
i try to see through that fog,
but nothing is clear to me and
i dont think ill find myself at all.

walking through that grey abyss,
i reach out in front of me,
hoping that my feet arent misled,
and that i can find the unseen.

finally you come along,
carrying that bright light,
the one that cleared the fog away,
and returned to me my sight.

you give me your hand,
and ask if im ready to be found,
i take it without thinking twice,
just glad to no longer wear this frown.

"keep holding my hand," i whisper,
afraid to be lost again.
he smiled and said,"dont worry, im here,
and there is nothing that can change that."
